Automakers in North America built 1,611,741 light vehicles in October, increasing 6.2% over year-ago’s 1,518,278. U.S. production rose 6.7% over last October’s 5-year low to 1,053,427 LVs. The car total was up 2.9% to 259,633 units, helped mostly by Tesla’s ramped-up Model 3 output, which grew an estimated 403.8% year-over-year.
